35 Years for Santa Tim

Santa Tim had joined New Horizons on September 9, 1988, with a burning desire to make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected kids. He started his journey at the Ranch in Goldthwaite, Texas, a residential treatment center where he poured his heart and soul into helping children heal and find hope. It was there that he discovered his true calling, witnessing the transformative power of love, compassion, and guidance.

After several years at the Ranch, Santa Tim transitioned to the Midway & Discovery group home program. He saw it as an opportunity to provide a more intimate and personalized environment for the children in his care. His nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication became a beacon of light for those who had lost their way.

But Santa Tim's desire to make a difference didn't stop at direct care. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of the needs of the children, he felt compelled to contribute on a broader scale. He took on a role in administration at the Abilene office, serving as a Systems Administrator and Facilities Manager. In this position, he worked diligently to ensure that the organization had the necessary resources and infrastructure to continue its mission of helping vulnerable children.

Throughout his journey, Santa Tim had the privilege of working with thousands of children, each one leaving an indelible mark on his heart. He saw children come in broken, scarred, and disillusioned, but with the support of New Horizons and his unwavering commitment, he witnessed them grow into resilient, confident, and happy young adults. The profound impact he had on their lives was his greatest reward.

Outside of his work at New Horizons, Sanat Tim had other passions. He had always loved Christmas and embraced his part-time job as a Professional Santa. Dressed in his custom-made Santa hat, he brought joy and laughter to children and adults alike. It was yet another way for him to spread love and happiness, even beyond the walls of New Horizons.

Tim's dedication to making a difference extended to his own family as well. As a father of two and a grandfather of seven, he poured the same love and care into his own children and grandchildren. He is a pillar of strength, always offering support, guidance, and unconditional love.

Santa Tim Hart, the man who dedicated his life to the betterment of children from hard places, was not just a hero to them, but to all who witnessed his unwavering compassion and selflessness. His journey had been long, but the ripple effect of his kindness would continue to touch lives for generations to come.
